LANCASTER, S.C. Debbie Gandy Lucas age 73, wife of the late Maxie Lucas passed away Saturday Morning April 5, 2025, at The University Of South Carolina Medical Center in Charleston, S.C.
The services for Debbie will be at 2 p.m. Thursday April 10, 2025, at the Chapel of Jerry Hartley Funeral Home 684 Hubbard Drive, with the Rev. Steve Anglin Officiating. The Visitation for Debbie will follow the service in the waterfall room which is the room of the beach mural starting at approximately 2:45 until 5 P.M.
Debbie retired from Joslyn Clark Control and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, she loved her family, the beach, loved being around people that laughed, and always loved being on the ball field. Debbie was born March 31,1952 in Lancaster, S.C. a daughter of the late Carl Gandy and late Viola Ray Gandy and was married to her late husband Maxie Lucas for 41 years.
Debbie is survived by her two daughters Carla Lucas Hiott and her husband Hal Hiott, and Kerri Ray, three Grandchildren Gracie Ray, Allie Berry, and Walker Ray, one Great Grand-Daughter Elise Carey, a brother Wayne Gandy and his wife Julie, a sister-in-law Linda Gandy.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Carl and Mrs. Viola Gandy, her husband Maxie Lucas, two brothers Ronnie Gandy, and Tony Gandy.
**The Family Suggest if you would like to come by the Jerry Hartley Funeral Home 684 Hubbard Drive and sign the register book for Debbie the hours would be from 12 Noon to 4 P.M. Tuesday, and Wednesday from 12 Noon to 4 P.M. The family will not be here until 1:30 P.M. Thursday, but you are welcome at your convience. Thanks, Jerry
